Technology Platform

oCelloScope is based on Unisensor's proprietary sensor technology FluidScope™. This technology is based on an optical sectioning principle in combination with a novel scanning principle (patent pending).

The sample to be investigated is divided into a number of very minute sections, typically 5 µm apart. Each section is recorded by a CMOS to form an image stack and each image can subsequently be processed. During the processing all objects of interest are “marked” and the corresponding objects of the individual images will form an object stack. The object stack consists of a series of cropped images which shows the object at different focus levels.

Further calculation of the object stack results in a number of morphological parameters and these can be used for various purposes such as:

  • Cell counting
  • Viability count
  • Confluence determination
  • Cell tracking
  • Growth rates
  • Wound assays
  • Etc.
